Wiki Loves Monuments 2020 Rules
In the competition only images of monuments collected in these listings are accepted. We also continue to hunt for the approximately 150 municipalities without photographs collected in these other listings. In the 2020 edition we also looked for images of the existing heritage in the Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves. The images have to be of own authorship and have to be uploaded during the month of September to Wikimedia Commons. The images will be reviewed by a jury in the month of October, during which the winners will be announced and the organization will contact them (activate the email reception in your Wikimedia Commons account!). All persons who decide to participate in this competition accept these rules and the decisions that the organization may take in this regard. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification. If you have any questions, please send an email to concursoswikimedia.es.
Monuments
- Those interested in participating must upload images of monuments in Spain, or in the corresponding autonomous community, that are listed in the section of Monuments.
- The objective is to have complete lists of all the monuments of the countries participating in the different Wikipedias, and images of these to be able to illustrate them, giving a complete and unique vision of the cultural, architectural, historical and artistic heritage of the countries where the contest is organized.
Municipalities
- In order to clearly define the municipalities for which photographs are still needed, lists by province have been created.
- Only the municipalities that appear in the listings participate in the contest, regardless of whether or not a photograph appears in the listing.
Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves
- In this edition of Wiki Loves Monuments the Autonomous Organization National Parks will award a special prize to the best photograph of the Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves , listed here.
- In case you do not use the upload form linked to the lists themselves, to identify the images participating in this special category of the Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves the following code must be added to the description page of Commons:
[[Category:Images of biosphere reserves in Spain WLM 2020]]
which results in the inclusion of the image in the Commons category wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Images_of_biosphere_reserves_in_Spain_WLM_2020 Imágenes de Reservas de la Biosfera en España para Wiki Loves Monuments 2020.

Evaluation
The criteria to be followed when evaluating the work are as follows:
- Technical quality:
- Correct exposure
- clarity
- Absence of problems such as lens distortion, noise, dust stains, JPEG artifacts or vignetting, among others
- Composition (the main subject of the photograph has to be the monument in question, without distracting or marginalizing elements)
- Aesthetic quality
- Encyclopedic value
Tips
- There are many monuments or elements that are found in private properties. You should not enter the interior of a private property without proper authorization. However, in Spain, it is possible to take photographs from a public place, so even if you cannot access the interior, it is possible to take photographs from the outside.
- Many monuments may be uninteresting on the outside, but nevertheless they can be true artistic gems on the inside, explore them, take as many photographs as you can and show both the general view and the details of them.
- Since they are usually small towns, it is recommended to take a general shot of the whole town from its surroundings.
- The Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves is home to a rich cultural heritage. Let yourself be surprised, for example, by the traditional architecture.
Before you participate
To ensure that you participate correctly and that your image will not be excluded in the final vote:
- Is the picture yours? If so, perfect.
- Does it represent a monument of Spain? The photos of the Eiffel Tower participate in France, for example.
- Is the image at least 2 Mpx? A size of approximately 1920x1080 is the minimum, smaller images, such as 800x600 or 1600x1200 or 1200x720, will be disqualified. Full resolution is welcome!
- Don't forget to add the ID code! You can find it at lists.
- There can be no signatures, dates or borders on the image, will also be disqualified.
- Go ahead and good luck!
